Welcome back! It’s been a bit. Hoping your summer holiday was happy and hot (or not depending on what you wanted). This year, we made a conscious decision not to fly for our vacation, having already been to Hawaii earlier in the year. So for the first time in our almost five years in Europe, we took a road trip. An epic road trip. For us anyway. Starting from home in Copenhagen, we drove through Germany and Belgium to the south of France where we spent a wonderful week with friends at a gîte in Saint-André-de-Sangonis in the Languedoc region. SHARING TRAVEL STORIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

For those of us who live in the Northern Hemisphere, it is decidedly summer. At least it is in Denmark. And while not as warm and sunny as last summer, we’ve had enough blue skies and warm breezes to keep us happy. This year we’re taking a grand European road trip from Copenhagen to the south of France. Living here without a car, we normally pop on a plane when we want to travel out of Scandinavia. But, there is something about the freedom of driving through that allows for spontaneity and flexibility in our route.

We’ve got a few stops planned and a few more starred on our maps. Can’t wait. I’ll be sharing and posting on Instagram as we putter along through Denmark, Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland and back. If you’ve got any don’t misses or epic favorites – throw them my way. Hej from here! It’s been a big month for us in Scandinavia. Summer has started. Officially in Denmark as of June 1. We’ve celebrated our first Danish graduation and are loving all the traditions that come with that right of passage. Like the unique studenterhuer, or students hats that all of the graduates wear. At the end of the month, we will welcome our son and his friends to our house as they ride around town on the back of a big truck in a graduate parade. It’s loud. It’s crazy. It looks so fun. As the Danes say, tillykke! Congratulations!

SHARING TRAVEL STORIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Cheers from here travel peeps. If you are in Northern Europe lately where we are, I hope you’ve been enjoying the beautiful weather. While not necessarily swimming at the beach (although some are) temperatures in Scandinavia, the skies have been blue and the sunshine shiny. A few new freckles and load of Vitamin D later, we are soaking it in. As you do up here. We had our version of Spring Break, half term or Easter Break in Denmark last week and it was perfect weather to prioritize some local adventures around Copenhagen and across the bridge to Sweden, a short thirty to forty minutes away.  While I may not be able to see sweet Scandi sister Sweden from my house, there are many places in the city where you can.
