SHARING TRAVEL STORIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD
Hej from Denmark travel people! It’s been a heatwave of hot up here in Northern Europe. I don’t want to complain, but this has seriously been the warmest July on record in Danish history. But it still hasn’t hit anywhere near the temperatures we experienced during our two weeks in Israel last month. It was my personal hottest July on record topping out at 44°C (111°F.) Happy to be back in what the Scandis call a heat wave.
The Faraway Files team is taking advantage of the season and all have tickets for travel this month. Therefore – we will be taking a community break from the Faraway Files link for the next three weeks. We’ll be back and ready to read and share and romance the heck out of your travel posts come August 30th when Katy at Untold Morsels will be hosting. So – get out there. Book some travel. Take that trip you’ve been planning for months. Jump in the car. Hit the beach. Do a staycation. Explore your own city. See a museum. Then write about it. We’ll be waiting!
FARAWAY FILES TRAVEL LINK UP WILL RETURN 30 AUGUST 2018
Today I’m sharing my first post from Israel and our experience on a road trip to the Dead Sea. Sharing tips on how to dip delicately and what to see and where to go afterward. Now it’s your turn. Lay your summer posts on me in today’s linkup below. Ready? Go! But first, some shoutouts to favorites from last week’s link up.
FAVORITES FROM FARAWAY FILES #87
These are Clare of Suitcases and Sandcastle’s favorites from last week. High five to the following bloggers.
Lyn from A Hole in My Shoe shared her 4th installment of amazing train stations from around the world. I’m a personal fan of Stockholm’s! Nice collection Lyn.

Clare also loved Catherine of Cultural Wednesdays post about where to find the best cream team in Surrey. Still not entirely clear what “cream tea” is – I’m definitely going to pop over and check it out. Congrats Catherine!

And last but not least, Clare would like to share a little love for California Globetrotter’s recent trip Stateside. I loved this post as well as I lived in Cincinnati for four years and am so happy to hear of the community commitment to rejuvenate historic areas. Go check out why you need to see this city in Ohio. Thanks Lorelei!

FARAWAY FILES TRAVEL BLOG COMMUNITY LINKUP #88
WANT TO JOIN IN?
Jump in! The water is fine! Faraway Files is a creative community of travel bloggers who inspire, engage and share each other’s posts. All participating hosts will read and comment on every post that participates in the spirit of the link up. We will also share them on social media too. Each week we’ll choose our favorite posts and highlight them on our blogs and social media channels using #FarawayFiles.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Link up one travel-related post and add the Faraway Files badge onto the post or your blog (code below) or link back to the hosts.
- The link-up will go live every Thursday at 8 am UK time (9 am, CET) until midnight on Friday. It will alternate between Fifi + Hop, Hilary Style, Oregon Girl Around the World, Suitcases and Sandcastles, and Untold Morsels. Check Twitter #FarawayFiles to confirm who is hosting each week.
- Link ups work best if everyone engages so please comment on each of the hosts’ posts and at least two others that take your fancy.

Have a good summer break, thank you selecting my cream tea post ….. a cream tea is a cup of tea with as many cream cakes as you can cope with, give me a shout when you are next in London and I’ll introduce you to the delights of an English cream tea!
So there is no actual cream in the cuppa tea? Rookie tea drinker here – but if you come to Copenhagen – I’ve got you covered with kaffe and kage. Coffee and cake! Cheers from Denmark – Erin
Cream only on the cake! Kaffe and kage sounds good
Hence my confusion. Ok – think I’m clear now and definitely willing to give it a go. Ummmm cream.
