SHARING TRAVEL STORIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

God Påske! Happy Easter from Denmark! Normally, Easter for me is a harbinger of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Things should be blooming, buds bursting open, life returning to the landscape. Ha! Not in Denmark this year. We woke up to snow yesterday! And there is more in the forecast. Crazy. It’s been a quiet holiday week off for us so far here in Copenhagen, but we’re off tomorrow to Denmark’s garden island of Fyn for a few days of family hygge in a cozy cabin by the sea. We’ll cross the Store Bælt bridge and head south to explore Svendborg, Faaborg and Helnæs area.

We’ll go fishing for seatrout and look for birds and play lacrosse in the yard. I’ll be sharing as we go along on my Instagram stories. If you want to see a slower side of Denmark, plus probably a castle or two, come say hej! Over there. That’s Danish for hi. With big trips in the works for the whole family later this year, a little Danish road trip not far from home felt just about right. The teens may not agree. But check back. We’ll see!

Perfect time to pour yourself a cuppa, plunk down somewhere cozy and peruse through some posts for inspiration. Faraway Files contributors live and travel all over the world on every continent. That’s what I love about it. Time to explore!

This week I’m sharing one of my favorite days out in Denmark. North of Copenhagen is the Fredensborg Palace, still an active residence for the Danish Royal Household for part of the year. I love strolling through the gardens no matter the season, open year round to the public for free! Yes please!

WANT TO JOIN IN?

Jump in! The water is fine! Faraway Files is a creative community of travel bloggers who inspire, engage and share each other’s posts. Each week we’ll choose our favorite posts and highlight them on our blogs and social media channels using #FarawayFiles.

HOW IT WORKS:
  • Link up one travel-related post and add the Faraway Files badge onto the post or your blog (code below) or link back to the hosts.
  • The link-up will go live every Thursday at 8 am UK time (9 am, CET) until midnight on Friday. It will alternate between Fifi + Hop, Hilary Style, Oregon Girl Around the World, Suitcases and Sandcastles, and Untold Morsels. Check Twitter #FarawayFiles to confirm who is hosting each week.
  • Link ups work best if everyone engages so please comment on each of the hosts’ posts and at least two others that take your fancy.
