In a little over a year, the Faraway Files travel blog community has shared stories, images and tips from over one hundred countries. 165 bloggers from the opposite ends of the earth have contributed, commented, inspired and informed. As your hosts, Clare, Katy and I have enjoyed getting to know individuals in this community in person and online. Today, we are very excited to introduce two of these people to you. If you are a Faraway File reader or contributor, you may have already read posts from our new co-hosts. Drum roll please…
We are happy to introduce two new Faraway Files co-hosts who will be joining our merry band of pranksters, I mean bloggers. Please welcome Hilary from Hilary Style and Corey from Fifi + Hop. Clare and I will be partnering with Hilary and Corey going forward. Katy will continue to host and contribute and engage after she is all moved in and settled in new digs around the world. She’s headed back to Australia! I personally can’t wait to see that side of the globe from her perspective. Go wish her best of luck for a smooth transition and joyful re-entry!
We are excited to start this new evolution of Faraway Files. To start us off? Hilary and I are your happy hosts today. Link up here, but definitely go meet Hilary if you haven’t already! Faraway Files Favorites Week #53
I am all about mooning over mountains after last week’s plethora of posts featuring pristine peaks. Faraway Files newcomer Jacki who blogs at Hit the Road Jacki shared a jaw-droppingly epic hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park. I am smitten and need to do this. Instantly. Thanks Jacki!
And Lorelei of California Globetrotter took me back. To a place that imprinted on us many many years ago. Ebenalp and the Appenzeller region of Switzerland has one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed in. The Berggasthaus Aescher only offers up its views and great food these days, but see why the region has so much to offer. Heart strings officially tugged.
From Switzerland to Austria, take me here now too. Thanks to Trish of Mums Gone To I now want to take Option C and see all of this! Wondering what Option A and B were? Traipse on over to her post and she’ll share. But I think you’ll only choose C after gawking, possibly with a little drool at this stunning place. Mountain loungers? Yes! And… please?!
And lastly, check out this magical trail in the Hohe Tauern National Park, also in Austria. Emma from A Bavarian Sojourn traipses down this magically beautiful trail finding gnomes and sparkles amidst serious amounts of swoon-worthy scenery.
Today I’m sharing Kefalonia, a mountainous and lush island beauty in Greece. Come see what you should kick it there off-season. And please – go say hej hej to Hilary! She’s going to be fantastisk!
