FORTY-EIGHT WEEKS OF SHARING TRAVEL STORIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Hej travel peeps! Have you been out exploring? Me, I’ve mostly been planning and budgeting and prepping for itineraries upcoming. Hammering out details. Sifting through choices.

Do you enjoy all the details? I adore the colorful details on the Islamic tiles in the photo above, a fab find from the impressive collection at the Davids Samlings Museum here in Copenhagen. (PS – you can see it all for free!) But when it comes to travel planning details. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t.

I will admit, I’m a list maker. And while my lists may look messy to you, they help settle my brain. Narrow the options. Check items off. I am the girl of 100 lists. And the 80’s apparently. But I can’t wait to g0-go to Greece and New York City next month!

Where have you been? Care to share? We’d love to read your latest travel post. Last week we had a fantastisk group of contributors. That’s Danish for fantastic. If you’ve been following along – you know that. Look at you – you know Danish! Thank you to all who linked up last week. Here are my favorites without further ado.

Faraway Files Favorites Week #47

Grab a cup of your go-to and settle in for some treats. Annabel from Smudged Postcard offers a little Italian espresso break on the Adriatic, just a hop, skip and a jump from the villa they found in Le Marche. The perfect place for adults to adult and littles to be little. Practically perfect, if you ask me.

Have you been to Barcelona? Then you know. The Gothic Quarter is a great place to explore. Corey over at Fifi + Hop takes us on a tour and I’m feeling all sentimental as Barcelona was our European excursion after moving to Denmark. Go check out her beautiful photos and fabulous guide.

Here in Copenhagen you can feel the light getting shorter every day and know that winter is coming. Having things to do inside with kids is key to keeping your sanity. Jenny from The Little Adventurer says it’s the same in Prague and she’s discovered 11 fun things to do with your littles inside in that city. I love anything that engages kids in an art museum!

And last, look at this. A thatched roof hut on a private dock with a coral reef beneath. Glamping in Panama anyone? Chiera of Young and Undecided shared the latest in her inspiring Women Who Wander series about fellow blogger Javon’s adventures on the Central American reef. Amazing.

This week – I’m taking you on a day trip from Copenhagen. It’s one of the most darling Danish villages that you don’t want to miss. Come see Dragør, doable in a day from the capital. Cheers from Denmark! Hej hej for now.

FARAWAY FILES TRAVEL BLOG COMMUNITY LINKUP #48

WANT TO JOIN IN?

Jump in! The water is fine! Faraway Files is a creative community of travel bloggers who inspire and share each other’s posts. All participating hosts will read and comment on every post that participates in the spirit of the link up. We will also share them on social media too. Each week we’ll choose our favorites and highlight them on our blogs and social media channels using #FarawayFiles.

As Faraway Files hosts, Katy, Clare and I love our link up and this supportive travel community. With over 130 contributors, we have read about 80 countries and territories around the world. If you join in and leave a link please reciprocate and comment on the hosts’ posts as well as at least two others that spark an interest. If we see a pattern of people not joining in, sadly we have decided to remove the links of those posters in the future.

HOW IT WORKS:
  • Link up one travel-related post and add the Faraway Files badge onto the post or your blog (code below) or link back to the hosts.
  • The link-up will go live every Thursday at 8 am UK time (9 am, CET) until midnight on Friday. It will alternate between Untold Morsels, Suitcases and Sandcastles, and Oregon Girl around the World.
  • Link ups work best if everyone shares so please comment on all three of the hosts’ posts and at least two others.
