Faraway Files #26

TRAVEL BLOG COMMUNITY

Twenty-six weeks of Sharing travel community

We live in Copenhagen. And have for the past two and half years. Copenhagen is on THIS side of the Denmark. The east side. I will admit that we haven’t spent that much time on the OTHER side of Denmark. In Jutland, let alone North Jutland. Known by the Danes as Nordjylland, it feels far away from Copenhagen. I’ve been to Sweden more times than I have been to Jutland. I can SEE Sweden most days from certain parts of Copenhagen.

But with no plans for our recent easter break and afforded five days off work due to state holidays, we were looking for a place to explore. Somewhere we hadn’t been before. And taking a ferry to a summer house in a little town on the west coast of Denmark. For Faraway Files, today I want to share lovely little Løkken.

Did you get away recently? Where to? Want to share? We’re back and ready to roll through your new places and posts. Take us somewhere! But first, I’ll share my favorites from last week.

FAVORITES WEEK #25

Sweeping Irish landscapes stun in this post from Annette at Four Acorns/Quatre Graines de Chênes about the Wild Atlantic Road in Ireland. From mountains to the sea to rocky landscapes and verdant hills. I’m smitten.

What happens when you set out to make it somewhere, but have to turn back? Chiera from Young and Undecided tried to summit the Cobbler in the Scottish Highlands and shares her humorous tale making the decision NOT make it all the way to the top. With views like this, part way seems like a serious success.

If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for street art, especially when it brings in the local flavor. Thanks to Lyn from A Hole in My Shoe for sharing the colorful side of Perth Australia. Who knew that it was ranked #4 in the world for public murals. I love this colorful platypus!

Nicola from Jetlag & Mayhem shares a look inside the gorgeous splurge of The Amanpulo, a private island resort in the Phillippines where she celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary. With my 20th approaching this summer, I am inspired, but will probably stick closer to Europe.

FARAWAY FILES TRAVEL BLOG COMMUNITY LINKUP #26
WANT TO JOIN IN?

We’d love you to join us in building this supportive and growing community who will inspire and share each other’s posts. All three hosts will try to read and comment on every post and we’ll share them on social media too. Each week we’ll choose our favorites and highlight them on our blogs and social media channels using #FarawayFiles.

HOW IT WORKS:
  • Link up one travel-related post and add the Faraway Files badge onto the post or your blog (code below) or link back to the hosts.
  • The link up will go live every Thursday at 8 am UK time (9 am, CET) until midnight on Friday. It will alternate between Untold Morsels, Suitcases and Sandcastles, and Oregon Girl around the World.
  • Link ups work best if everyone shares so please comment on all three of the hosts’ posts and at least two others.
