Faraway Files #25

TRAVEL BLOG COMMUNITY

Twenty-five weeks of Sharing travel community

It’s like a silver anniversary up in here – let’s celebrate! This is the twenty-fifth Faraway Files travel blog community link up. Oh the places we’ve been!

FAVORITES WEEK #24

Last week I was taken by the color of connection in the community posts. From Cuba to Japan to California to Malaysia and more, such beautiful ways to celebrate color. Lee from Bumble Bee Mum showed us a unique and special festival in Hokkaido, Japan. The Yosakoi Soran festival looks so fun and noisy and happy and joy filled, I would love to see this! She has a ton of gorgeous pics on her blog if you missed them, check it out.

Phoebe at Lou Messugo blog showed us how picturesque little French Riverian town of le Bar sur Loup celebrates with the annual Orange Festival. More color and more fun and I can almost smell the citrus from here!

Faraway Files newcomers Eva and Tom of E&T Abroad took us to the Cameron Highlands of Malaysia for tea tasting and rain forest exploring. And while it may not be a celebration per se, finding this rare Rafflesia in bloom is worth celebrating.

Can you feel the rhythm? I loved the energy, color and charisma of Santiago de Cuba from Wilbur’s Travels. Beautiful buildings, incredible history and amazing people.

And lastly, because I’m on a color kick and can’t pass up street art – I have to share one from Hilary Style Me’s post about a downtown Los Angeles graffiti and mural art walking tour.

This week I’m celebrating a little Viking heritage with a review of three Scandinavian Viking museums. In Scandinavia, it’s Easter break next week. For children, this means school is out and for everyone else – it’s a long weekend holiday with five days off. What this really means is that EVERYTHING shuts down here in Copenhagen. Most people take advantage and get away. We’re not going so far, over to Skagen on Jutland – the other side of Denmark.

Faraway Files will also be on break for the next two weeks. I will be happy to welcome you back on Thursday, April 27th right here at Oregon Girl Around the World. If you celebrate – Go’Påske! Happy Easter.

FARAWAY FILES TRAVEL BLOG COMMUNITY LINKUP #25
WANT TO JOIN IN?

We’d love you to join us in building this supportive and growing community who will inspire and share each other’s posts. All three hosts will try to read and comment on every post and we’ll share them on social media too. Each week we’ll choose our favorites and highlight them on our blogs and social media channels using #FarawayFiles.

HOW IT WORKS:
  • Link up one travel-related post and add the Faraway Files badge onto the post or your blog (code below) or link back to the hosts.
  • The link up will go live every Thursday at 8 am UK time (9 am, CET) until midnight on Friday. It will alternate between Untold Morsels, Suitcases and Sandcastles, and Oregon Girl around the World.
  • Link ups work best if everyone shares so please comment on all three of the hosts’ posts and at least two others.
