Are You an International Living a Life Abroad?
CALLING ALL EXPATS, REPATS, IMMIGRANTS, INTERNATIONALS & GLOBAL NOMADS
We want you! Don’t worry, it’s not a fitness movement, but it is an Instagram challenge. I will be sharing no lockdown planks or run stats. We’re all doing what we can to cope and manage in our own ways during this world crisis. What “May on the Move 2020” is – is a way for internationals to engage, connect, and discuss what life has been like for you in your spaces around the world right now, even if we aren’t really moving or traveling at this time.
I have been invited by fellow writer and international living in Denmark – Catriona Turner of The Frustrated Nester blog to join her in hosting the 2nd annual #mayonthemove Instagram challenge. Catriona hails from Scotland, but has lived many interesting places on the planet before landing in Esbjerg, Denmark. She is an author and contributes stories and perspectives from the Jutland side of the country for The International, an English language newspaper helping non-Danes living in Denmark. But you don’t have to live in Denmark to join in. This challenge is open to anyone who has spent time living life abroad.
WANT TO PLAY ALONG? HERE’S HOW TO CONNECT
First – head over to Instagram and follow Catriona @thefrustratednester and me, @oregongirl_aroundtheworld and the hashtag #mayonthemove2020 to meet the people joining in this year. There is no pressure and you can pop in and out whenever you like all month. We’re getting started today, May 1st with introductions. I’ll be posting mine shortly.
There are only 16 prompts and you are free to tackle them at your own pace. There are no deadlines or special days to remember. Just a way to get people talking and thinking. Head over to The Frustrated Nester to see more inspiration and ideas about how to respond to the following prompts. There are no wrong answers and you are free to write as little or as much as you want.
