Work With Me

Welcome! Velkommen! Bienvenue! Cheers!

I’m happy you found my little corner of the internet. My name is Erin Gustafson and I am the founder and sole content creator on Oregon Girl Around the World – a travel and lifestyle blog focusing on sustainable travel for the whole family. I seek out experiences that allow us to immerse in local culture. Taste the food. Smørrebrød in Copenhagen. Fika in Stockholm. The best chippy in Liverpool. Banana donuts in Honduras. Stockfish above the Arctic Circle in Norway. Meet the people. Learn about the culture.

I firmly believe that sustainable tourism doesn’t have to mean making sacrifices, and I hope to offer choices and opportunities where we can lessen our carbon footprints and leave positive impacts on the environments and communities we seek to explore. From seeing what’s fresh at the local market to supporting local businesses and regionally run cultural experiences, there are so many ways to keep travel sustainable.

For 7 years, I was a local living in Scandinavia. From Portland, Oregon to Copenhagen, Denmark, and back again.

What People are Saying About Oregon Girl Around the World:

As a Dane who grew up in Copenhagen… your blog is such a wonderful read – you really ‘get’ the Danes and I am in total awe of how many wonderful places you have found in Denmark! You have been on such a wonderful adventure and have managed to get well and truly under the skin of WHO and WHAT being Danish means…I LOVE IT! Your humour fits so well with the Danish too.

Your writing just resonates with me. It is so vivid I can smell and taste the food you describe! – and it feels like I am there!

Wow! Great blog. I am looking at visiting Copenhagen for the first time. I Googled what’s to like in Copenhagen. Found you. I’m glad it’s so personalized. Great sense of humor. Real. … Keep up the great writing.”
